REDAVIA achieves rapid growth in the Kenyan market with two additional installed solar plants.

REDAVIA deployed a 428 kWp solar power system at Shalimar Flowers Farm Limited located in Naivasha town. This is currently the biggest solar power plant yet deployed in Kenya by REDAVIA. The flower farm is already recording remarkable savings from the solar generation system. The cost savings from solar can be a game changer for the horticultural sector because the cost of energy for greenhouses and pack houses make up a large part of operational costs in the sector.

REDAVIA also deployed a 99kWp rooftop solar unit at Wonder Feeds Limited. Located in the industrial area of Nakuru town, Wonder Feeds maximises on the solar energy that is produced during the day when the factory is at the peak of production. The company is also recording a considerable amount of operational costs reduction.

REDAVIA’s solar power plant leasing service is rapidly gaining traction in the business world.  With just a minimal upfront investment, customers can reduce costs and increase operational flexibility. The company’s pay-as-you-go system consists of a pre-configured unit containing solar modules and electrical components. Once deployed on-site, REDAVIA’s technical team installs and manages the operations and maintenance of the solar farms. In addition, the firms are achieving their sustainability objectives by reducing their carbon footprint as a result of REDAVIA’s carbon neutral solution.

Srikanth Vadakattu, Director of East African Growers, said, “We are happy with the professionalism shown by REDAVIA staff in executing the solar power plant set up at our Shalimar Farm in Naivasha and the monitoring tools put in place to check the performance of the plant. The financial terms they have extended us are very encouraging during this difficult Covid-19  period”

Said Erwin Spolders, CEO of REDAVIA: “REDAVIA’s rapid growth in Kenya proves that REDAVIA‘s value proposition is truly unique in the market and puts us a step ahead of alternative providers”.

Looking ahead, REDAVIA expects explosive growth in this industry, seeing as more and more businesses are looking to save more while embracing sustainability.
